Launched as a networking tool, the Collaborative brings together over 900 service providers from regional organizations that serve people with disabilities and seniors. The Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) led the way in the creation of this unique initiative in February of 2006. In March of 2010, Rolling Start, Inc, became the fiscal sponsor (nonprofit, 501c3, organization) for the collaborative.
Mike has been working in the adaptive sports field since he was a VSO volunteer in India from 2009-12. In India he learned about wheelchair basketball and combined that with his work for the National Trust-Government of India. After India he lived in Nepal from 2012-16 getting more into adaptive sports. Upon returning to the US he was an Asst. Coach with the Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team at the University of Arizona and co-founded Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports. He then went on to work in Raleigh/Durham with Bridge II Sports and moved back to California in August 2019 co-founding Palms to Pines Parasports in May 2020. Mike was the first Board President and is now the Director. Mike has two grown children Daniel, a monk in Self-Realization Fellowship and Sarah a musician, both living in L.A. Mike has a BA Political Science from UC Irvine an MA-Sociology from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern!
